the xaris answers to beauty queen questions

a belated post to the recently concluded miss universe pageant. these are the ho-hum questions asked of the top five beauties for the 2007 Miss U. quite frankly, very far from the award-winning what is the essence of a woman bit.

Who would you prefer - a man who is spontaneous and wild or the one who plays safe?
I would definitely go for someone who is spontaneous and wild because i am always on the safe side. A change of view would do me wonders especially if i would, ehem, represent women as a miss universe title holder [what? i can dream, can't i?]. Spontaneous and wild don't have to mean dangerous or illegal, so i don't see anything wrong with that.

If you would have any superpower, what would it be and why?
if i had a superpower, any superpower, i would definitely want to to stop time just so i could take in all the precious moments and not have to rush things. a year passes by oh so quickly and the least i can do is savor every day, moment by moment, and hopefully share it with those who need to the time off from life's pressures and challenges.

Is it better to live life following your heart or your mind?
The heart is deceitful at times that is why you need your mind to steer things in the right path. it's not a question of following your heart or your mind, but how you can make these two work harmoniously for the greater good of many.

If you have to pick one moment in your life what would it be and why?
Today is a good day. Because out of the many beautiful girls all over the world, i get to stand here and answer that question. It's what we make of every moment that counts. why not today?

What is the one lesson learnt as a child that still affects your life?
to love God with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. lessons from Sunday school still apply today. when i remember this, i am confident that i am in good hands even if things don't go my way. and that at the end of the day, what's done for Christ will last.
