Bleep

There's something about trips going north that soothes the proverbial savage beast in me (yes, there is one lurking beneath my kikay exterior). It could be that the (tres cool) SCTEX is such a delightful cruise or the fact that the clouds today practically told me a secret. A change in routine is therapeutic, I must say.

It really is rather refreshing to wake and get up before the sun is up. What do you know, sunlight really does wonders. And the sky was so clear and bright. Hay. Colors.

Something tells me the following days will be worth waking up to.

So I watch high school musical 3 at every free chance I get (which has become every other day) and every time gives me goosebumps of sorts.

I've had two senior years in my life and nothing compares to watching hsm3 senior year. Yesss... whataloser. Let me recall my own high school senior year...

...

Big whoop.

As for the college version, I suppose I had more fun here being busy with my last sem, the tres fabu shalala yearbook, and playing villain to most of my friends.

Ulk. I don't hab a layp. I relate better to musical teenybopper flicks than reality.

It's official. I've boarded the single forever ship and it's leaving the dock. Adios.

And I blame Edward Cullen for it. I should have heeded my friend's warning and stayed away from the Twilight saga (after all, I've put off the reading list for almost two years; now I buckle). She explicitly told me to get into a relationship first before I read about the hawtie hawt hawt vampire lest my standards shoot up to unbelievable, unattainable heights. Well, too late for that. So yes, mortals, goodbye!

I had to use my weird bengali accent when reading his parts so he won't have to be sooooo perfect. My plan failed. There's nothing more I can do with the Edward Cullen in my head.

The Heat is Ohnnnn!

It's a freakishly hawt summer evening that it feels like my brain is melting just when I have so much kwento. In the meantime, I'd do this tag thing to keep my braincells active [whoo hoo] and wait for more coffee invitations. Yahahaha.

Romina for the tag!
1.Each blogger starts with ten random facts/habits about themselves.
2.Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their ten things and post these rules.
3.At the end of your blog, you need to choose ten people to get tagged and list their names.
*ditching rule number four*

Been there, done that.

But here goes...
1. I like High School Musical and if I were to play in Beat the Geeks, I'd definitely nail any HSM geek down.
2. Lip synching is one of my best hidden talents.
3. Batman is my dream guy. Piolo means I'm settling.
4. I would probably die of road rage. Hopefully, by the time I prove myself worthy of a Philippine driver's license, the rage will have died. Hopefully.
5. I have no intentions of living past 25 years of age. Help me.
6. I talk to myself an awful lot.
7. I write my crushes love notes but never send them. As of this writing, I have a whole shoe box of unsent love letters.
8. Waking up and getting up are two different processes for me. The interval between the two usually takes a half hour to an hour and a half.
9. I like keeping perfume bottles with liquid enough for two spritzes before I get another one. That way, I can smell the 'scent' of my favorite memories.
10. Every year, I have a diary entry that reads the same line. I don't do it on purpose, it just happens.

Tagging anyone bored enough to go for the tag. :D

High School Musical

Rating:★★★★
Category:Movies
Genre: Kids & Family
this review comes in a year later [it takes that long for me to process something, haha].
disney did a very wonderful pre-plugging campaign for this movie. i have to admit i was excited to find out what this "high school musical" is about. on its premiere, i fought hard to keep the remote and a perfect tv-viewing spot from my siblings who thought better than watching an "inane" kids film.
anyhoo, they were right. it turned out to be an inane kids movie with all the disney ingredients. it did not fail my expectations, however.
the plot is a bit too shallow with kids fighting urges so that they can keep the "status quo" by staying at their own cliques and doing what is expected of them. like jocks cannot be singers, science geniuses cannot get into theater, geeks can't like hiphop... hello? haven't they heard of being multi-talented?
considering the context of the movie though, i suppose there is some sense to keeping the tradition if that's what it takes to maintain the ability to focus at one thing. the leads of the movie proved everyone wrong.
with a little inspiration from a would-be love, troy bolton [zach effron] and gabriella montez [vanessa ann hudgens] brave the unknown [aka theater and singing] while maintaining a low profile lest their friends find out what they've been doing. because it's high school, image is important. "stick to the stuff you know!"
minus the plot, the movie gets four stars because, hey it's disney [that's a personal bias] and the over-all executions to make this movie- from the songs to the choreography to the costumes [i love sharpay's [ashley tisdale] character!] to the cast to the film's texture- are viewer-friendly. meaning, i wouldn't mind watching it over and over again [which i successfully did; i'm counting twenty times of HSM-watching].
the songs, too are okay [can't say much about the singing, though], easy to learn and sing-along to. and when you want to charm pre-schoolers, just hit a few notes... "we're soaring, flying..." and you're sure to win their attention. haha.
definitely not a movie for grown-ups who are into "sensible" things, but for chronologically advanced children at heart.
it's highly advisable to remind kids who are watching that they can try other stuff aside from what they're already good at while being determined to be the best they can be wherever, in whatever.
and that's what they call "breaking free."
