My Redeemer Lives

Boy, do I have a lot to tell. Before I finally forget half the things I've been meaning to say, lemme put in bullet form and a 'few' highlights [grah, this is all I can handle for now, boo me].

  • Hillsong United is the bomb!
I did not intend to see them live because I once told Ate Normi, 'I'm not a fan.' I probably was possessed when I said that but I think I said those words because of the hype the group was getting amongst Christian crowds. Nawawala sa limelight ang Panginoon and that troubles me. When May 26 came, I even decided I didn't want to go. Sapak mode again. But the Lord is good. Even when I had to walk in the rain [I just recovered from the flu] and kept meeting unfortunate circumstances, I found myself in a seat at the lower box of AC with my church mates, anticipating this year's most rockin' worship concert.

I did not know any of the names of Hillsong United. But I was blessed. It was clear that the band is all for God and not for fame. I wondered how many kids at the Araneta Coliseum was looking at the Creator of Music rather than the music makers. And with humility knocked into me, I knew for a fact that we were all there to worship the Lord. This is what eternity is going to look like. I can't wait.

When the frontperson [see, I never bothered with names] was reading from the Bible, tears voluntarily flowed from my eyes because somehow, those were the exact same things the Lord was dealing me with. And when the songs started, mehn, I felt the Holy Spirit moving. Only He can cause a crowd of rowdy, young Christians into people of God burning with so much passion and worship. YOU DESERVE THE HIGHEST PRAISE, LORD!

  • We're ON THE LOT
My church has been rallying the high heavens for the last seven years that we may acquire a new lot and building. The lot has been an issue of well, worldly politics and gripping the powers that be. But our God is an AWESOME GOD whose name is higher above all names. Seven years. The timing can't be any more perfect than this. How Mighty is the God who can orchestrate miracles as such.

But to look at this lot [parang bus terminal lang ah, ay, bus terminal nga!] and know it was delivered to us by the Hand of God is enough consolation. This is Abraham's, Moses', King David's, Paul's God who gave this to us. The same God who delivered Israel from Pharaoh, the same Hands that carefully plotted the stars and galaxies, the same Voice who spoke the world into being is the same God who holds Sampaloc Bible Church.

Take that, worldly powers, our God reigns. Shout Unto God - Hillsong London

  • Grace Anatomy
The amazing thing about grace is that it is given to us even when we don't deserve it. Heck, we never really deserve it. And yet we enjoy it.

I'm torn between two Davids.

Hahahaha.

No matter, I'm pretty sure that whoever bags tonight's jackpot will leave the other one with opportunitues just as splendid. This has got to be the most exciting finale of all time! And I'm not just saying that because I'm boy-crazy. Yeehaw.

dedlayn

We made a movie in one of my broadcast subject [yez, i took broadcasting] in 2005. My best friends [who happened to be my classmates] and I teamed up to make this short film. It was our first attempt to create something in honor of the one thing we loved together-movies. Needless to say, the events that transpired between concept-making to film-showing has made everyone appreciate the things movie makers do.

Right. When I've released something- creative juices, words or thoughts, I rarely go back to it.

I watched dedlayn minutes ago and I laughed my head off even when it was supposed to be drama. Every detail of that project was recalled in my oxygen-deprived brain and I can't help but feel a bit nostalgic. Sure, I knew the faults of the production and the outcome, but I must say I'm proud of the project.

Riiight.

Charos.

From making the short film dedlayn, I learned that...
1. ayoko pala talagang magsimula sa pagpi-PA.
2. I work best in executive functions [pang-events at hindi pang-field ang beauty ko].
3. true friends are those who stick by you even when you've become incredible hulk and beech them around.
4. i have anger issues.
7. video cameras, shooting techniques and the weather can only take you so far. Heart is more important.
10. all you really need to succeed in endeavors is a God bigger than all your troubles who gives you awesomely wonderful friends who add meaning to life.
11. having a camera recording your movements is well, unsettling. but fun.

Eh, yan na lang muna. Matagal ko nang pinakawalan ang pangarap na ma-redeem ang film-making inclinations ko, or what's left of it. Chos. :)

I hate Starbucks-Power Plant

I wrote a long hate letter to the lousy, discriminative peephole in Power Plant Starbucks but the wireless signal went off and I wasn't able to save it in the drafts, at least. I'm too miffed to write it again so I'll start and end by saying I'll run over whoever's on duty there between 2:30 to 3:30 PM especially Counter Girl and Order Girl. Muhahahahaha!

Do you have a generic face or do I think of you too much that I see you everywhere?

Because I have a lot of time in mah hands

1. Pick 15 of your favourite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Fill in the film title once it's guessed.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search functions.

1. The rules of hair care are simple and finite. Any Cosmo girl would have known. ~LEGALLY BLONDE

2. What do stars do? They shine. ~STARDUST

3. Verbal ability is a highly overrated thing in a guy, and it's our pathetic need for it that gets us into so much trouble.

4. Isn't this religious, ah yes. The eternal battle between good and evil, saint and sinners... but you are still not having fun.

5. Do you remember in kindergarten, how you'd meet a kid, and know nothing about them, then 10 seconds later you'd be playing like you were best friends, because you didn't have to be anyone but yourself?

6. When I find the right girl, I'll know. It'll just hit me. BAM! Like lightning.

7. Don't talk like that. You'll be all right. We're together now. Everything's going to be fine, you'll see.

8. It's not a date. We're just agreeing to eat at the same table.

9. Yes, they are, they're perfect. Don't matter if they're skinny, fat, blond or blue. If a woman is willing to give you her love, Harvard, it's the greatest gift in the world. Makes you taller, makes you smarter, makes your teeth shine. Boy, oh, boy, women are perfect.

10. I've been waiting my whole life, I just don't know what the hell for.

11. Really? There's a stalker book? Great, I gotta read that one.

12. Summer romances begin for all kinds of reasons, but when all is said and done, they have one thing in common. They're shooting stars, a spectacular moment of light in the heavens, fleeting glimpse of eternity, and in a flash they're gone.

13. I've already wasted my whole life. I want to tell you with my last breath that I have always loved you. I would rather be a ghost, drifting by your side as a condemned soul, than enter heaven without you. Because of your love, I will never be a lonely spirit.

14. Yes. I was saving to become a doctor or lawyer... but this was a chance for world peace.

15. Can I have one last first kiss? ~50 FIRST DATES

Stolen much from Iya. I promise this is a game and not blind items I want to tell people. hahaha.

To add a few because my migraine is subsiding, i can think clearly now...

*secret* tinatanggap. *chos*
